We are currently in the process of upgrading gas meters at no cost for a select number of customers in Iowa.

About gas meter exchanges

Before your exchange

  • You will receive a letter from ײƵ stating that you have been chosen to upgrade your equipment at no cost.
  • Follow the instructions in the letter and schedule a time for a technician to exchange your equipment.
  • Ensure the area around your meter is easily accessible and clear of debris.

Day of exchange

  • A technician will come at the scheduled time to replace your meter.
  • Your gas service will be shut off during the exchange and restored when the new meter is in place.
  • Our technician will need to enter your home to relight pilot lights on gas appliances.

After the exchange

  • If you were not at home, call the number on the door hanger to schedule a 24/7 technician to relight pilot lights.

Does someone need to be home?

No, ײƵ can do the majority of the installation without the customer being at home. However, since we have to shut off gas service during the exchange, we will need to enter the home to relight any pilot lights once the exchange is completed.

In order to relight the pilot:

  • If someone over the age of 18 is home, we can immediately complete the process.
  • We can leave a hanger on your door with an explanation of the service completed.
  • Call us to send out a 24/7 technician to your home to restore service.

ײƵ employees should always have their company badge with him to identify themselves as an employee. You’ll likely also see an ײƵ logo on their clothing, and they should be driving an ײƵ-branded truck.
